Argentine Mauser M 1891 kal. 7.65 mm rifle. Serial number: S 1096 on the ricasso. Excellent+ bright finished long fullered blade with a crisp German maker's name: WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & Co SOLINGEN in three lines crisp on the ricasso and an intact Argentine crest, Modelo Argentino 1891. Star over A on blade spine. Excellent bright finished pommel with T slot. Crossguard with guillon and muzzle ring MRD 15.5 mm. Crossguard marked: Px and R on the reverse side. Cx marking facing the blade. Excellent alloy grips secured to the blade tang by two alloy rivets.
Excellent blackened steel scabbard with some very light user spurs only. An oval frog stud and no dents, marked: S 6567 and a Dx marking on the reverse side.
Between 1893 and 1898, 190.000 M 1891 bayonets with alloy grips were produced.
When sold to another country, the Argentine crest was filed out.
