"Garde Jager officier's sabel M 1852"./ Dutch Jaeger guard officers sword M 1852. Minty curved fullered bright blade with a beatiful etching on both sides. The blade has the typical Jaeger blade tip. Dutch retailers name and residence in two lines in a box on the right blade side; FRANS PAUWELS over 's GRAVENHAGE (= Frans Pauwels, Hoofdstraat, Den Haag. 1874-1925) Intact original brown leather washer. Blade is beautiful and deep etched on both sides with hunter's throfees, hunting rifles, hunting horns, gun dogs and follicants. Blade spine is beautiful etched; REGIMENT JAGERS . Extra ordinary nice designed excellent gilt hilt with cast gilt brass flat pommel (no nut on top). The grip is unusual more straight dan normal and the handguard is rather narrow. Excellent one piece dark ribbed brown horn grip with a silver wire winding. Superb gilt brass straight handguard with sa small side bar. Crossguard with forward swept guillon.
Excellent nickel plated steel scabbard with one loose hanging ring and no seriaus dents. There are users spurs to the scabbard but mainly to the drag.
It comes with its genuine Dutch M 1855 officers sword knot with a black cord and an orange core in an Excellent + condition..
This sword is made around 1920 given the more Art Deco style of the hilt and retailers name in a box instead of a scroll.
