German Imperial M 1888 Artillery Officers sword. Superb bright finished curved, deep etched, pipe back blade. Hidden by a languet, the Knight helmet trademark of Weyersberg. The blade is on both sides beautiful deep etched with knights, knight helmets, harnesses, military thropees etc. On the right site a bar with the German proof mark: EISENHAUWER. The blade spine shows the etched name and residence of the retailer: JEAN GRISAR. KÖNIGL. HOFLIEFERANT- COBLENZ . Excellent brass non-detachable chinless lion head hilt. A single P shaped hand guard and two languets. A swept forward qullion. Hand quard and hilt back with "ears" with floral motives. Right lanquet with two qcrossed cannons in a circle and left languet with a plain Crest shield. Beautiful wooden grip covered with ray skin and an intact copper wire winding.
No scabbard.
A beautiful Artillery officers sword with a pipe back blade, made by Weyersberg. This model saw action in WWI, Weimar Republic and WWII.
