US M1 Carbine, M1A1 carbine and M2 carbine. Serial number 28 on pommel. Minty parkerized blade with long false edge. Beautiful round handle, made from a stack of brown leather washers and six grooves. All rings are intact and have sharp edges. The first and the last spacer, close to the pommel and the crossguard, are made from brown plastic. Straight crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 14,75 mm. Crossguard with US makers name: IMPERIAL (= Imperial Knife Company, Providence, Rhode Island), a Flaming bomb mark and US M4. The pommel with two spring loaded locking catches is marked with the pommel makers logo: SI (= Standard Products Corporation, Port Clinton, Ohio). The latch pins are peen marked.
Excellent green plastic scabbard with a lace hole in the tip. Throat is marked  USM8A1 over US makers name: B.M.CO. (= Beckwith Manufacturing Company and Victory Plastics Company) Green integral webbing with a belt hook and a retaining strap.

Made by seven contractors during 1944-45 only. Beautiful example, by far the best we ever had.
