Swiss M 1914 Pioneer carbine bayonet by H.S. (ABC N 1314)(K 389) (JN 185-3)

Schmidt-Rubin M 1911 Carbine. Serial number: 66127 on crossguard. Superb long bright finished 65 teeth sawback blade, swelled to the point and with a fuller on one side. The ricasso is marked with the rare Swiss maker's trademark:  H. S. (= HANS STEIMER - Wasen?) under a Swiss cross. Large bright finished pommel and crossguard. MRD 14 mm to fit M 1911 carbine. Short straight quillon. Beautiful wooden grips riveted to tang with 2 large steel rivets.
Excellent dark blued metal scabbard with no dents and a leather strap on the frog loop. Top of the scabbard and the throat are both marked : P.
Excellent brown leather frog with Swiss makers name: KARL GEHRING over 1943 over STEIN A/RH (= Stein on the Rhine river) crisp in an oval on the reverse side.

Made by H.S. and this is is a rare maker!  It is believed that H.S. is the Swiss maker's trademark of Hans Steimer of Wasen- Switzerland.
