British M 1907 SMLE MKIII rifle. serial number A 40881 on pommel. Excellent blued fullered blade with A in a star, 1907 in a shield, LITGOW, and the date 1919 in four rows on the ricasso. Reverse side shows  an A in a starbend mark and another A in a star. Excellent blued pommel and crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 16,5 mm. No oil hole in pommel. Crossguard is marked 3 MD 69839 ( = Military District 3, Victoria.) Excellent wooden grips secured by screw bolts.

This bayonet comes with the extremely rare double seamed reddish brown leather scabbard crisp marked 1921 LITHGOW and a star mark on the leather body. Excellent reddish brown leather body with all seames intact on both sides. Excellent blued fittings with crisp Litgow inspection markings. No pitting and no dents! Extremely rare scabbard in an EXCELLENT condition. This is the model with the small round frog stud. Not many were made.

This set is completed with its early Australian 1908 Pattern bayonet frog (Antony Carter 13)
Excellent to MINT brown leather frog, fitted with a brass buckle and roller. Front side with crisp serial number 5142. The reverse side is stamped with Australian makers name W. ROLAND,  W. A. 1916 and W-broad arrow-D in three rows (faint). Front is double stitched and no rivets. Beautiful example, near MINT!
