"Nederlands Garde Jager officier's sabel M 1852". / Dutch Jaeger guard officers sword M 1852 .Beautiful curved and heavey fullered blade, very deep etched on both sides with hunter's trofhees, a red deer stag, a gun dog, a hunters horn, follicants etc. Dutch retailers name, fuction an residence in a box on the blade.: FRANS PAUWELS. HOFLEVERANCIER- te 's GRAVENHAGE ( = Frans Pauwels, Supplier of the Royal court, The Hague.) Blade spine with etching and crisp marked; REGIMENT GRENADIERS en JAGERS. Intact red felt washer. Beautiful and excellent brass hilt with cast gilt brass pommel and a one piece tapered dark brown horn grip and intact copper wire winding. Hand guard with side bar. No finial on pommel. Crossguard with forward swept guillon.
Very good German-silver scabbard with a single loose hanging ring. Some user spurs only, but no serieus dents. The second hanging ring was official removed after 1885. 

Very early model and heavy M 1852 Dutch Jaeger guard officers sword. Made before 1885.
Total length 95.0 cm. Width at the ricasso; 2.7 cm.
The two last pictures show  a comparison of the Jaeger hilt (bottom) and the infantry hilt. The very last picture includes a "modern"Dutch Jaeger sword hilt made about 1935 with a finial on the pommel. (middle).
