"Nederland Infanterie officierssabel uit de tijd van de Bataafse Republiek 1795 -1805." / Dutch Infantry officers sword 1795-1805 Batavian Republic. Very good+ bright finished singe edged spadroon blade with a simple etching (a Napoleonic sun sign) and maker marked at the ricasso: A. S .(= Abraham Schimmelbusch & Sohn - Solingen 1783 - 1813) On the blade spine there is a faint Solingen Rose mark. Very good gilt brass boat hilt with a checkered ebony wooden grip with a brass diamant shaped inlay. There is a small crack in the wooden grip on one side. Single knuckle bowl. Straight crossguard with two quillons. Gilt brass plumed helmet pommel showing clear French, Napoleonic, influenze.
No scabbard.
Total length: 98 cm. Width at the ricasso 2 cm.
