Mauser M71 rifle/Mauser M71/84 rifle /Werder M 1869 rifle.

Excellent fullered plated blade with double German maker's logo on the ricasso. ERFURT on the one side and ALEX COPPEL-SOLINGEN in two lines on the reverse side. Blade spine is crisp Prussian marked W 80 plus inspection marking. Totally nickel plated hilt, nickeled external spring and crossguard with quillon and muzzle ring MRD 17,4 mm. No ribs on grip, both sides of the grip are smooth!. Crossguard is marked towards the blade with inspection mark and 3 6. Reg. mark on crossguard. 73. R. 4. 5. (= Füsilier-Regiment General-Feldmarshall Prinz Albrecht von Preusen, Hannover. 4e Bataillon, 5e Kompanie. )Excellent++ black leather scabbard with plated fittings with no dents.
Unusual M 1860 (Jager scabbard type) drop shaped frog stud. Excellent tooling, all stitches in tact and no dents to the nickeled fittings.

Very rare, never encounted before, bayonet in a outstanding condition! It looks like a M 1871, it fits a M71 rifle, but it is not a M 1871 bayonet! I do not know what it is. German police side arm perhaps?
