British Lee Enfield (SMLE) No.7 rifle. Second pattern. Beautiful bright finished blade, first c. 20 mm blackened. Ricasso marked with makers logo V in a C (=Vickers Crayfort) and name VICKERS and dated  9 '18 Crown  1907. Clear British inspection marks on reverse side of ricasso.  Excellent chestnut grips. Blued pommel and crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 16.5 mm. Large oil hole in pommel. Obsolete mark on pommel.
Very good black leather MKII scabbard. All stitches intact and no dents to the blued metal fitting. Blued top mount with almond style frog stud shows light surface pitting.

This bayonet was made by the famous machine gun manufacturer Vickers Ltd. at Crayford, England. It started the production of Po.7 bayonets mid 1917 and by the end of the production run, they had made =< 10.000 bayonets only. That makes this company the scacest maker of M 1907 bayonets.
These Vickers made  bayonets are pretty rare.
Very nice set!
