British Lee Enfield (SMLE) No.7 rifle. Second pattern. Excellent bright polished blade, first cm blackened. Crowned GR 1907 dated 3 '17 and SANDERSON (faint) on ricasso. Clear British inspection marks on reverse side of ricasso. Excellent chestnut grips.Very nice blued crossguard and pommel. Pommel is crisp unit marked R.E. over 741 (= Royal Engineers, rifle 741) 
It comes with the extremely rare British made black leather double seamed No.2 scabbard. Excellent leather parts with all stitches intact. Mounts show light surface pitting but are free of dents. Leather part crisp marked and bearing British maker logo H.G.& R.'15  (=Hepburn Gale & Ross 1915)  Tear drop frog stud and no rivets in top mount. All stitches and staples intact. Extremely hard to find scabbard in a very good condition!
